The Olivet Nazarene University Football Team lends a helping handThe Olivet Nazarene University Football Team reached out to the local community this past weekend to lend a helping hand. The football team has partnered with the outreach program Garden of Prayer located in Kankakee, IL. The players and coaches spent the weekend landscaping, painting, and cleanning the camp grounds around the youth centers. These services will prepare the Garden of Prayer for their annual summer camps. "The partnership is the first step in the right direction for teaching our young student atheletes to give back to the community. Our student atheletes need to know that there is something bigger than themselves and football. We are trying to help them understand that serving others and giving back is important," says Head Football Coach Don Lee. The football team will continue to help out with the Garden of Prayer throughout the summer. Summer camps, field trips, and after school programs have been planned to help serve the inner city youth and community.
